About the Program:

We are often shocked when someone is found to be lying or stealing. What were they thinking? What lead them to decide to do it? We will investigate the factors that impact employee behavior and what organizations can do to influence ethical decision-making.

About the Speakers:

Dr. Jeff Simmons joined the faculty of Oklahoma Christian University in 2008 and is currently serving as the Dean of the School of Business. Dr. Simmons has over 28 years of experience in higher education. His teaching career began in Vienna, Austria, where he served on the faculty of International Christian University between 1994 and 1995.

Prior to joining the academy, his professional experience includes automobile marketing and sales; retail management; and working at the U.S. Department of Commerce in the International Trade Administration. In 2014, he served as consultant to a firm in the Shandong Province of China.

Dr. Simmons views his calling to be one that prepares students to help the community to flourish through business. As such he challenges them to conduct themselves with excellence and to consider others more than themselves. In 2014, Dr. Simmons was honored with the OC Faculty Leadership Award. In addition to his teaching and administrative duties, Dr. Simmons also leads the OC Ethics Debate team, which has experienced much success at the state, regional and national level, including three Final Four National appearances and earning 3rd place finishes.

In his free time, Dr. Simmons enjoys spending time with his family, which includes his wife, Pattie, and his son, Jordan and his two “bonus/adopted” daughters Brigitte, originally from Rwanda, and Martha, originally from Kenya. He also serves as an elder of the Memorial Road Church of Christ in Edmond.


Chris Province is a performance improvement specialist with a passion for activating sustainably vibrant brands. Chris’ work focuses on the development of practices that clarify and activate organizational purpose. Chris completed his undergraduate studies at Oklahoma State University and earned a master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma in the field of Organizational Design. His work on transformational leadership models was formally recognized by University of Oklahoma faculty for excellence in the field of Social & Behavioral Research. Chris has completed the Executive Development Program at University of Nevada – Reno, licensed as a PMI certified Project Management Professional (PMP), and is a certified John Maxwell TEAM speaker and coach. Chris’ professional career includes extensive experience as a hospitality executive, entrepreneur and educator with core competencies of leadership, project management, product development and operational execution.
